Windshield protection film (WPF) is a transparent protective film applied to the exterior surface of a vehicle’s windshield. It provides an additional layer of protection against stone chips, flying debris, scratches, and other everyday road hazards. Unlike traditional window tint installed on the inside of automotive glass, windshield protection film faces the road directly. Its construction combines a protective surface, a flexible film substrate and an adhesive layer designed for exterior glass application. HOUDE windshield protection films are designed for exterior wet application, with flexible film construction that conforms to windshield curvature. The range is developed for installation without conventional heat shrinking, helping professionals work efficiently while maintaining a clean finish.
01 — Glass Preparation
Clean the windshield thoroughly to remove dust, oil and other contamination. Proper preparation helps reduce visible defects and improves the final finish.
02 — Film Positioning
Apply the recommended installation solution and position the film on the exterior glass. Align it carefully before removing trapped water and air.
03 — Curing & Aftercare
Allow approximately 48–72 hours for the film to cure and bond to the glass. Avoid washing the vehicle and minimize windshield-wiper use during the initial curing period.
04 — Long-Term Maintenance
Clean the film regularly with suitable products and keep the wiper blades in good condition to help preserve the surface and optical clarity.

Can windshield protection film prevent rock chips and cracks?

Its effectiveness depends on the impact force, object, angle and glass condition. No film can guarantee protection against every stone impact or prevent all windshield cracks.

Can windshield wipers scratch the film?
